Personality testing involves examining an individual's tendencies, moods, attitudes, values, and beliefs to determine whether or not a psychological problem is present. This is accomplished when an individual completes a series of psychological tests designed to accurately measure his or her psychological capacities.
Intelligence testing involves the measurement of an individual's intellectual capabilities (or, obtaining an "IQ Score"). Such testing is helpful in determining a person's strengths or weaknesses in areas including, but not limited to, numerical reasoning, nonverbal reasoning, factual knowledge, attention skills, memory, and spatial relations.
Testing for learning disabilities involves the measurement of an individual's abilities and achievement level in areas including, but not limited to, reading, writing, arithmetic, and cognitive processing. Such testing is especially valuable in helping children receive appropriate academic placement and assistance.
